‘HEY LOVER’ IS A FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER FROM MONTREAL
Jesse & Elena are a husband and wife photography & videography team capturing weddings on film, digital and super 8.
For couples who love film, aesthetics and captivating imagery — but really love the idea of not having their wedding day feel like a photoshoot — we offer a truly documentary experience: low-key, hands-off and observing to catch beautiful, vulnerable moments as they happen. Inspired by old-school street photographers like Elliot Erwitt, our favourite images capture a fleeting emotion unique to that specific fraction of a second - which is magical and cannot be reproduced, like light burned onto a film negative. So, we don’t try to. We’ve learned after hundreds of weddings that the less involved we are - the more special and spontaneous the images and videos become. The result is incredibly personal and nostalgic - the kinds of photos and videos that bring on the tears year after year.
We get to know every couple and how they see photography & videography as a part of their day without the assumption that anything is mandatory or assumed, helping to organize any requested family portraits and offering direction for newlywed photos. Direction is given with movement and intention to inspire genuine connection and fun! Whether you love the camera or are shy (like Elena) we have a habit of making everybody feel relaxed and in the moment.
